We would like to provide you with some additional information about the BUGBONE® a snack that has been developed with great dedication by a Veterinary Nutritionist who graduated from Wageningen University.

HOFMAN ANIMAL CARE in The Netherlands started in 2023 with a animal snack bakery to produce our own  brand dog snack BUGBONE®.  We are open for Private label production partners.

WHAT MAKES BUGBONE® A SPECIAL DOG SNACK?

1) Super tasty. Almost no dog refuses to eat BUGBONE® with pleasure.

2) You know what you are feeding your dog with a clear recipe "Made in Holland". This is in contrast to other snacks where the origin and quality of the ingredients** are at least vague. In short, it is a safe and high-quality product that is good for your dog.

3) The protein used is insect protein*, making BUGBONE® "rich in insect protein." Healthy and sustainable.

4) Attractive store presentation with a good appearance in the assortment.

5) Low in calories (249 Kcal per 100 grams). Many dogs nowadays are overweight due to excessive calorie intake, particularly from "unhealthy" snacks.

6) Good for dental health and fresh breath.

7) Grain-free. Making BUGBONE® well-tolerated by almost all dogs.

8) Artisanal "Oven Baked". Advocates claim that this method preserves the nutritional value of the ingredients better due to lower core temperatures compared to extruded products.

9) BUGBONE® does not contain additives. Additives are substances intentionally added to a product to improve properties such as shelf life, color, smell, taste, texture, etc. The health effects of many additives and their quantities are unclear.

10) Hypoallergenic. There is a very low chance of allergic reactions from consuming BUGBONE®.

*WHY INSECT PROTEIN?

1) The production of insect protein uses only a fraction of natural resources such as land and water. For example, only 15 liters of water are needed to produce one kilogram of insect protein, compared to a minimum of 10,000 liters of water per kilogram of protein production for the most commonly used protein sources.

2) No antibiotics or growth hormones are used in the production of insect protein. Therefore, no residues of these substances can appear in the end product.

3) Safe production. In the used insect farming, everything is produced in one place, eliminating transportation during the production process, thus preventing the spread of potential pathogens. Moreover, the Black Soldier Fly used does not have mouthparts capable of transmitting disease-causing agents.

4) Hypoallergenic. This greatly reduces the risk of allergic reactions upon consumption.

5) Insect protein is high-quality and also contains some healthy minerals. High-quality protein is easily absorbed by the body. Insect protein is just as high-quality as beef protein and higher quality than plant proteins such as soy.
