The New@ANIDO stand attracted plenty of interest and presented a superb overview of the latest innovations from the show's exhibitors. On the opening day visitors flocked to vote for their favourite new products in two categories, i.e. 'Food' and 'Accessory and Care Product'. This year they were also given the chance to identify the product that they thought deserved the 'Natural & Sustainable' award.

In the 'FOOD' category the award went to Edgard & Cooper for their innovative work on the Doggy Dental Stick, a dental care chew. This product makes Edgard & Cooper the first pet brand to package chews in biodegradable materials. Second prize went to the 'Barking Bakery' range by the Dutch company Cat & Dog Supply. The tasty 'woofins', biscuits and cakes (and their edible logos) have a party feel about them and are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. Third place went to the 'Healthy Treat Concept' offered by the company Beeztees. The multiple-variety natural snacks are made from 100% meat and their individual characteristics help maintain the health of the (allergic) dog (e.g. hypoallergenic, protein-rich, gluten-free, with added omega 3 and 6, etc.).

The winner of the 'ACCESSORY AND CARE PRODUCT ' category was the latest version of a GPS tracker made by the French company Weenect. The smallest and lightest on the market, this GPS tracker offers ring, vibrate and educate functions. The 2020 update introduces artificial intelligence to the tracking system, which measures an animal's activity and its health. Silver in this category was awarded to Holland Animal Care's 'Spotted!', the ultimate solution for runaway pets thanks to a free app that puts the finder in touch with the owner. Third place went to the 'Wunderball' by Van der Basch Trading. The Wunderball is the Benelux market's first and only indestructible rubber ball. It floats and bounces and never falls apart.

The 'NATURAL & SUSTAINABLE' award went to the company Supplies for Pets, for their Bio & Compostable Poop Bags for dogs, made from 30% renewable raw materials. The paper sticker and cardboard inner roll are also biological and compostable. A highly deserved second place was set aside for the company I&I Pet Supplies and their XS coffee wood chew root (a size for even the tiniest dogs). The coffee wood chew root is a leftover from coffee harvesting. In the past coffee tree roots were incinerated. Edgard & Cooper, the winners of the food award, took the bronze for their Doggy Dental Stick, which comes in biodegradable packaging. This packaging is made from two plant-based materials: FSC-certified paper from trees from sustainably managed forests and a bioplastic made from GMO-free European potatoes.
